YP Tip of the Week – Jim Mothorpe, Capital Investment Companies

Tuesday, May 17th, 2011

At the last YP Speaker-N-A-Latte, I had the opportunity to present Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover.

Here are three points from the presentation:

  • There are many programs or systems to help you achieve financial success. Choose one and become a student of that program or system. I am a student and teacher of Dave Ramsey’s program.
  • It has been said that 80% of your effort in achieving your future financial success is managing your financial behavior.
  • Choose wisely when selecting a financial professional. If you choose yourself , you have chosen poorly.

YP Fayette Relay for Life Team

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011
Looking for a Way to Get Involved?  Join YP Fayette’s second annual Relay for Life team (Featuring the Pink Pamper Parlor) to help the American Cancer Society fight back against all cancer in all communities.

1.  We are looking for dedicated volunteers to be on the planning committee.  Roles will involve creative idea planning, sponsorship, assisting in finding vendors for our tent and day of event coordination.

2.  If you do not have time to be on the planning committee, we have other ways for you to get involved:  be a sponsor, walk in the event, assist with tent activities, or make a donation.

3.  We need a “Mr. Relay.”  The purpose of Mr. Relay is to create a light-hearted contest to raise money for Relay for Life at the event.  Mr. Relay dresses as a woman and walks around with a purse asking for donations.  People give money to their favorite Mr. Relay, and the one who has the most money at the end of the contest wins.  All money collected goes to the winner’s team.

4.  Participating in Relay for Life is a great way to network with other professionals in the area while working for a good cause and giving back to the community.

For more information or to RSVP for the upcoming planning meeting, email Sarah Smith at Info@FayetteChamber.org or Elaine Dingler at EDingler@FayetteGa.org.  Our first planning committee meeting will be February 11, 8:30 am – 9:30 am.
