Real Life Center

Businesses may become involved in a variety of ways, including:

  • Hold a Food Drive – The Real Life Center will help promote and pick up the food; or collect one specific item (cleaning supplies, new socks for kids, books, blue jeans, etc.)
  • Encourage financial donations, perhaps a company match — If the company can raise so much as a group, the company with match or double the amount; or match individual employee donations.
  • Place Change for a Changed Life Jars at your business — This provides a convenient  way to donate by giving extra change, which will go directly to families going through tough times.
  • Offer the Blue Jeans To Work program — Employees may wear jeans to work on a certain day of the week for a small fee ($3-5). The money collected helps families during the holidays.
  • Honor Your Employees by giving a financial gift to a needy family in their names
  • Adopt a family as a group for the holiday (if available)
  • Volunteer as a group (limited spots may be available/may depend on size of group)

The Real Life Center helps individuals from all walks of life navigate the tough times they are facing – which can be many of us in this economy!  It provides a safe place for those struggling to get back on their feet to receive needed help and resources. It provides necessities for living while equipping people for life.  Since 2008 the number of families assisted in Fayette County has increased 90%, average 350 per month.  Programs include financial assistance and counseling, food, clothing, housewares, resume help, and extensive Network & Referral.
